About the Port

History, location, key officials, vision & mission

History

Established in 1963, the port has evolved into a major maritime hub serving the eastern corridor of India. With decades of excellence in shipping and logistics, we continue to expand our capabilities and infrastructure.

Over the years, the port has played a crucial role in India's economic development, facilitating international trade and supporting the growth of industries in the region. Through various phases of modernization and expansion, we have continuously adapted to meet the changing needs of global shipping and commerce.

The port's journey began with modest facilities handling primarily bulk cargo, and has since transformed into a multi-cargo port with state-of-the-art container terminals, specialized berths, and advanced cargo handling equipment.
